A Puzzle for Tim

Today's letter to my congressman. Thought I'd use USPS, for a change. CC to his Washington office as well.
Representative Tim Walberg
Jackson District Office
401 W. Michigan Ave.
Jackson, MI 49201
Pastor Walberg,
Where does one begin? Dear Leaderโs constant distractions, the lies, the cruelty, the disregard for law and the Constitutionโany attempt to call out the hypocrisy of supporting this bloated obscenity is lost in the mountains of filth spewing from this vile administration.
So, Iโll be brief and use a simple, recent example where even the dullest of GOP Christians might recognize the evil theyโve embraced.
Painting the wall black
In a recent email, you were so proud of โclawing backโ $18 million earmarked for USAID to improve street lighting in Mexico. Fair enoughโred meat for the base. However, the regime has approved painting the U.S.- Mexico border wall black, at a cost of anywhere from $500 million to over $3 billion.
It appears you have been silent regarding this project, and perhaps wisely so. This is pure cruelty in its darkest form. It is quite literally designed to cause painโto burn the hands of those seeking refuge from horrors we cannot imagine.
I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
โMatthew 25:35Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of my brethren, you did it to me.
โMatthew 25:40
Now, it is well known among my friends that I am not a Christian, nor do I accept the divinity of Jesus. Nevertheless, I greatly admire the manโs wordsโhis call to treat others with kindness, to extend forgiveness to enemies, and to show mercy to those in need. That believers should respond to a cruel world with mercy rather than retaliation.
This leads to my puzzlement: how is it that a Pastorโor for that matter, any GOP Christianโcan support the current regime? One led by a felon, an adjudicated rapist, a conman, draft dodger, racist, and an accused defiler of children?
Tim, you and I are both old, and soon weโll pass beyond this vale of tears. The good news is, while there will be no reward, there will be no accountability eitherโoff scot-free, as it were.
Of course, while your beliefs may differ, perhaps you might pray that I am correct.
Kindest regards
Mark Busha
Enclosure: In case I'm mistaken. Donโt leave home without it.
